Ecological Surveys
Our specialist team of appropriately qualified and experienced ecologists are drafted in to perform an Ecological survey for any protected species. This ensures the correct procedures are followed in order to satisfy any legislation with minimum interference to the project.
Wildlife Relocation
David Riding Ltd often undertakes the necessary procedure of trapping protected wildlife on development sites. The ecology team will then supervise and complete the delicate operation of manually relocating all discovered wildlife to a new designated habitat.
Tree Surveys
David Riding Ltd completes a variety of tree surveys. These are carried out by fully qualified employees who have extensive experience in arboriculture. Surveys undertaken include:
- Retention Classification as per BS 5837: 2005
- Category Grading as per BS 5837: 2005
- Safety in relation to The Occupiers Liability Act 1957 & 1984
- Legal status of trees and any disease or decay affecting prominent trees on site
- Tree condition, both structural and physiological
Site Clearance - Tree Removal and Site Clearance Services
David Riding Ltd undertakes site clearance rapidly and safely, removing entire trees of any diameter. We have vast experience of harvesting trees and whole tree chipping, the resulting material can then be incorporated into topsoil or loaded onto walking floor artic trailers to be transported to power stations for biomass fuel. We also perform forestry mulching operations to remove the material of excavated stumps and root balls or remains of felled trees. This is undertaken by high powered machinery to achieve a quick and efficient service to keep projects on schedule. Again depending on the preferences of the client, the resulting mulch can either be cleared from site or incorporated into the topsoil providing a fertile soil for regeneration and eliminating haulage costs.
Japanese Knotweed Removal and Invasive Weed Eradication
David Riding Ltd has a wealth of experience to draw upon in the eradication of Japanese Knotweed and other invasive species. The company has a wide range of bespoke treatments that are cost effective and environmentally aware. Our solutions and methods fit the needs of our individual clients’ specification, while understanding the importance of rapid eradication for the fluid continuation of developments.
Contaminated Land
We have an extensive range of environmental remediation techniques and waste disposal methods. David Riding Ltd will undertake a site specific assessment, identify any contaminants and then implement the most cost effective methods and techniques. Contaminants are removed / separated using remediation technologies and then either recycled, reinstated or disposed of adhering to British & EU Standards & Guidelines.
Wildlife Fencing
The Company offers temporary or permanent exclusion fencing that prevents re-colonisation of great crested newts and water voles. All fencing erected will meet the specific requirements of the development, while also meeting Natural England’s Guidelines introduced in 2001. If water voles are discovered, more extensive specialist fencing is installed due to the territorial and persistent nature of this species. This can include submerging fencing below the surface of any affected watercourse and sinking fencing below the surface of the ground. Water vole meshing or netting may also be required to prevent re-colonisation.
Tree Protection Fencing
In accordance with British Standard 5837 Trees in Relation to Construction – Recommendations 2005, fences must be erected around any trees that are to be protected. This British Standard is in place in order to prevent damage to the tree and it’s root system during any form of construction or development. All our tree protection fencing meets BS 5837.
Hoardings
The company offers complete secure hoarding installation for any development site. Types we provide include timber ply or more extensive alloy / steel.
Tree and Hedge Planting
David Riding Ltd supply and plant a wide variety of trees and hedgerows and construct appropriate shelters if required. The company offers commercial planting or entire landscaping projects, which have an immediate impact on developments. Post planting we ensure the trees or hedges take root and are managed by watering and feeding until established.
Agricultural Fencing
The company has a wide range of agricultural fencing solutions to meet all land reinstatement requirements. Types of fencing we undertake include: basic post and rail, estate fencing and stock with wire mesh or barbed wire.
Grasslands
David Riding Ltd offers ploughing, harrowing and seeding operations for any land area and species of grass. This is completed to our typical high standard in order to achieve a sustainable result.
